Dating. For many people, the first date is like a faint memory buried deep in the back of the mind, one that is best never brought to light again. Some memories, like an email or a text message, should be deleted from memory as quickly as possible. That's because the first date usually doesn't go the way a young person imagines it, or the way it's often portrayed in movies and novels. Dating is a form of first getting to know each other: the boy and the girl move closer and start to size each other up, which may lead to a first kiss or simply stop at holding hands, depending on the couple's age. A date is the first step toward a steady relationship. A date is especially important for getting to know a person as they really are, not just as they pretend to be. Besides, it's exciting to find out what else there is to discover about someone. That's how you can tell whether there will be more dates and, in the best case, perhaps even lay the foundations for a committed relationship.

Dating. Everyone has had them: dates. Dates that went completely wrong and were, so to speak, a total flop. In many respects, a date is more like a game of chance: either you draw an ace or, in the worst case, you take flight the moment you set eyes on your date. To get through a date without any mishaps, there are a few taboos you should definitely observe on a first date. One taboo is mentioning your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend on the first date. Another is assuming that the man will pay the bill. These days we live in an age of equality; women are emancipated and shouldn't expect the man to pay the check. In conclusion, I can say that dating makes sense, because who buys a pig in a poke? Dating is the only way to get to know a man or woman better. Dating is booming, whether on dating sites or in "real life". It's a chance to meet people, and maybe true love is standing right in front of you. Your dream man may not be that far away. Giving "dating" a try is worth it.
